A rescue rep is the volunteer who is responsible for the acceptance of a dog into the program
and following through with its care and needs until such time as the dog is ready for adoption.
The rep will screen homes until the best home for each dog is found. They will then handle the
placement, paperwork, and subsequent follow-ups on the dog.
The rescue of Aussies is not always an easy thing. There can be very difficult times - knowing
you cannot save all of the dogs who may need saving and not having enough help, money, or
resources to save as many as you would like. But there are joyous times when reps have saved
these very special dogs and have found them the perfect home where they will live a happy and
cared for life. Not everyone can do everything, so by networking and each rep doing what they
can, many Aussies can and are being saved. It is not a job for everyone, but those who do become
Reps are never sorry for the rewards are very great. Just look into the eyes of any rescue dog
and you'll see what we mean!
Once your application is received, you will be contacted by the Area Coordinator for your area
to continue with the application process.
